Wanted Monroe County man arrested in NY

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU)— A man wanted on statutory sexual assault charges in Monroe County was arrested in New York over the weekend.

On May 11, the New York Police Department and the United States Marshalls say they arrested 62-year-old Devon Johnson, a man charged with 77 counts relating to involuntary sexual intercourse with a minor in Monroe County.

This comes nearly five months after officials issued a warrant for his arrest back in January.

Johnson is facing the following charges:

• 12 counts of statutory sexual assault

• 12 counts of Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age

• 12 counts of unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses

• 12 counts of Aggravated Indecent Assault of a minor

• 12 counts of unlawful contact with a minor – obscene and other sexual materials and performance

• 12 counts of endangering the welfare of children

• 12 counts of corrupting minors

• 12 counts of criminal solicitation of child pornography

• 12 counts disseminating explicit sex material of a minor

• 12 counts of indecent exposure

• 12 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old

Investigators said Johnson is currently awaiting extradition to Monroe County.
