Want to glamp with Yogi Bear and Boo Boo? Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park, a family camping resort franchise, is expanding in East Tennessee this summer.

Jellystone Park is opening a new location on Watts Bar Lake in Loudon, which is about 40 minutes west of Knoxville. With 263 campsites settled on 74 hilly, wooded acres, it will be one of the largest family-focused camping, glamping and RV resorts in Tennessee, according to a media release.

The new site has glamping cabins with hotel-style furnishings, air conditioning, linens, full bathrooms and kitchens, and pull-through pads for recreational vehicles.

“Families can look forward to a vacation experience like no other in the area,” Troy Sheppard, chief operating officer for Great Escapes RV Resorts, said in a release.

“The park’s scenery is spectacular, and the cabins, RV sites, pools, splashground and other attractions will thrill both kids and parents alike,” added Rob Schutter, president of Camp Jellystone.

The glamping experience at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park

The Watts Bar Lake campground will operate year-round and will feature two pools, a large splash pad with two water slides and an outdoor movie theater. Wagon rides, laser tag, gem mining, arts and crafts, themed weekends and more activities will be available to entertain guests. And, of course, you can have fun with the popular Yogi Bear, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear characters.

A café, a retail store, golf cart rentals, a dog park, an activities center and a space for private events are all on the site, as well as bathhouses and laundry facilities.

In the future, pickleball, sand volleyball and basketball courts, a playground, jumping pillow and gaga ball pit will be added, according to the release.

How to book a stay at Watts Bar Lake Jellystone Park

Reservations for summer stays will open soon at wattsbarlakejellystonepark.com. You can join the mailing list now to get updates on reservations and when the opening date is announced.

Rates for the new Watts Bar Lake park aren’t listed as of March 21, but the Pigeon Forge Jellystone location has RV sites starting at $49, glamping tents starting at $109 and cabins around $132. Rates vary depending on season.
