Walmart recalls electric mini chopper

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An electric mini food chopper sold at Walmart is the focus of a nationwide recall, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The CPSC says Walmart is recalling Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers due to the risk of users getting injured. It says the chopper’s blade can operate unexpectedly during assembly or when not enclosed in the container, posing a laceration hazard.

The CPSC says Walmart has received five reports of people getting cut by the mini choppers. Two of the people needed medical attention, including stitches.

The recall is for model number MS14100094536S1. The model is attached to the bottom of the plastic bowl. The choppers are rechargeable and cordless and have a green lid, white body, and clear plastic bowl. There is one blade attachment that consists of three curved blades on a white plastic spindle.
