Walmart hosting grand reopening
Apr. 23—The Clovis Walmart will host a "grand reopening" Friday.
According to postings with the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce and on social media, the event will take place starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the region's largest retailer just off North Prince Street in Clovis.
The Walmart posting states, "There will be food trucks, music, giveaways and much more."
Walmart #821 of Clovis sustained more than $42 million in damages when Jimmy Guillen, 59, allegedly started a fire in the store that became a massive conflagration early the morning of Sept. 3.
Guillen remains incarcerated facing federal charges.
The store was closed for about two months as crews cleaned up and repaired damages.
