‘Walking Dead’ Star Steven Yeun Shares Video From Last Day on Set

Steven Yeun, formerly of The Walking Dead, joined Conan Thursday night to talk about his gruesome death scene in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere and what he has planned for the future. As fans of the show are well aware, Yeun’s Walking Dead character, Glenn, got his head bashed in by bad guy Negan. Abraham, played by Michael Cudlitz, suffered the same fate, and the two actors shot a video of themselves killing time before shooting their last scene on the show.

The video shows both actors holding Starbucks coffees, with Cudlitz saying they’ve been sitting there drinking coffee for a while and that he’s heard there are no ill effects. The camera pans up to show both of them with fake massive head wounds but still saying that they feel fine. Then Cudlitz breaks into song.

“That whole night took hours, and we were just camping out in the makeup trailer looking super-gnarly, and we had to kill some time and make ourselves laugh because it was so sad,” Yeun said, explaining the video.

As far as his future is concerned, Yeun may have already found himself a new gig — filling in for Conan O’Brien at rehearsals. He plays the guitar, yells at the staff, and tries to convince himself that he’s funny while looking in a mirror. He also attempts to style his hair like O’Brien’s. Cudlitz also made an appearance as a fill-in for Andy Richter.

Conan airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET on TBS.
