Prepare for the ends of the world to collide, because AMC's The Walking Dead is just days away from revealing its elusive crossover character.

Following claims that The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead would never share the same screen time, the announcement of a crossover special shocked fans at New York Comic-Con.

While the details of which character will be swapping shows still remains top-secret, The Walking Dead's official Twitter revealed that all will be become clear in November 26's Talking Dead.

So, who could it be?

With Fear the Walking Dead currently underway filming season 4, and TWD having just wrapped filming season 8, it looks increasingly likely that a character from The Walking Dead will be heading back to the start of the outbreak in Fear.

Everyone is obviously waiting to see who the lucky/unlucky soul will be, but all signs point to Michael Cudlitz reprising his role as Sergeant Abraham Ford.

Abraham was introduced in season 4 of AMC's shuffling showstopper, and the Band of Brothers actor immediately became a fan-favourite with his no-nonsense attitude and signature red tash.

As Negan's first casualty of a particularly bloody arc, Abe had his head smashed open in the season 7 premiere. At least fans know that if Sgt Ford is the crossover character, he will make it out of this chapter of the zombie apocalypse alive.

It makes sense that incoming Fear showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg would use a well-loved character for their big crossover episode – and there is no denying that Abraham fits the bill!

Cudlitz himself has struggled to keep quiet about the possibility of him sticking on a tank top and heading to Texas for season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead.

Unfortunately, with the crossover promised before the end of 2018, there could still be a bit of a wait until we see the mysterious member of the cast jump shows.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US, and on FOX and NOW TV in the UK, while Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and BT TV in the UK.
