Warning: This article contains major spoilers for season 7's episode 15 'Something They Need', which airs next week.

How about that ending to episode 14 on The Walking Dead, right?

It looked like we said goodbye to Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) for good this week, as – in the closing few minutes of the episode – she locked Rosita (Christian Serratos) out, telling her that it wasn't her time yet to die, before rushing into the heart of the Sanctuary with the sounds of gunfire being heard.

Rosita was forced to run away, weeping as she did so and fearing that Sasha was dead.

But is Sasha really dead?

AMC has released an official image of next week's episode 'Something They Need' – and it reveals her fate:

Yes. She's alive. She hasn't moved on to Star Trek: Discovery just yet.

Her situation isn't a good one, though – being held by Negan, with nobody in sight to rescue her (unless Eugene has a change of heart).

In fact, one could argue that this situation is very similar to the one a comics character found herself in at this stage of the story.

If you want to learn more about Holly and what that could mean for our Sasha (be warned: major comics spoilers), you can check it out here. That doesn't mean it will happen, mind you. It's just a possibility.

Meanwhile, Josh McDermitt – who plays Eugene – has explained why his character made the decision to stay behind at the Sanctuary. It actually makes a lot of sense.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
