Walking Dead episode 9 picture shows what happens after Negan breaks out
Note: This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead season 9 episode 9.
Aside from Jesus' death and the introduction of the Whisperers, the other notable moment from The Walking Dead's dramatic midseason finale was Negan escaping from his cell.
The former Saviors leader unexpectedly found his cell door unlocked, and – unlike in the comics – he decided to leave.
A newly-released picture from AMC shows what happens next, and it seems that Negan sticks around Alexandria a little bit longer before saying goodbye to the place.
Negan is seen sneaking around undetected with a shovel in hand as a possible weapon, but the most interesting thing about the image is that he appears to be wearing Rick's clothes.
Does that mean that he breaks into Michonne's house to change his clothes? Michonne may be out of town right now (fighting the Whisperers, in fact), but does Negan encounter Judith?
And is it just us, or does Negan look an awful lot like Rick in the picture?
Heck, that shovel even looks like Rick's hatchet if you squint.
A previously-released photo from episode 9, which is titled 'Adaptation', shows the aftermath of the Whisperers attack, as the likes of Michonne, Daryl, and Magna trekking back to Hilltop... with the lifeless body of Jesus being carried one of the horses.
The Walking Dead will return on Sunday, February 10 on AMC in the US and on Monday, February 11 on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV.
