‘Walking Dead’ Drops to Nearly 4-Year TV Ratings Low

Even the biggest show on cable can have an off-week.

Season 7 Episode 6 of “The Walking Dead” earned 14.3 million total viewers with the benefit of three days of delayed viewing. Of that sum, 8.9 million came from the key 18-49 demographic. The tally stays the same when shifting to the older 25-54 demo.

Those are huge numbers, of course, but not by the AMC drama’s standard. Instead, these Nielsen L3’s hit a nearly four-year-low for the hit show, dating back to early 2013 and the second half of Season 3.

“The Walking Dead” typically sees a spike towards the midseason finale, which is coming up.

That means the zombie apocalypse’s next two episodes will be crucial, and AMC will make sure Rick and Daryl are back on screen.

“The Walking Dead” airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC.
