When the characters in The Walking Dead aren't busy dealing with zombies, there's a lot of romantic drama going on. No point being human if you're not going to get your heart broken, eh?

However, one main character notably hasn't had any romantic interests across the show so far, and that person is Daryl.

Norman Reedus' crossbow-wielding hero been shipped with both Carol and Connie by fans, and showrunner Angela Kang has teased that we'll explore that side of Daryl in some way in the future.

Speaking to Insider, Kang said: "As for Daryl and his romantic entanglements or not, I think that Daryl... he's an abused character who does not trust people easily, which makes it pretty hard to get into some relationships.

"But, we'll be exploring some more aspects related to that in the following season. I hope that answers the question a bit."

Kang's wording is interesting here, because she doesn't necessarily mean that exploring Daryl's love life (or lack thereof) means giving him a girlfriend. She could mean they will further explore why he's closed off to the idea of romance, or maybe he's just flying that asexual flag.
