To celebrate the Oct. 22 Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead — the series’ 100th episode — Yahoo TV will be posting a new TWD-related story every day through the season opener.

The Walking Dead fans are truly fanatical — they’re ride or die for the zombie drama. Many are so committed to the show that they’ve permanently inked their fandom onto their bodies. The range of Walking Dead-inspired tattoos ranges from tributes to characters (Daryl Dixon is a favorite, no surprise) to quotes to lovingly-rendered weapons. And of course, there are etchings of walkers, including the very first zombie that Rick Grimes encounters back in season 1.

Here’s a look at some beautiful, disgusting, and headscratching #twdtattoos:

1) Most Photorealistic

2) Least Daryl-ish Daryl
On the other end of the the spectrum, this Daryl ink is super cutesy. But Daryl isn’t meant to be cute!

3. Best Weapon Ink (Tie)
Daryl’s crossbow is rendered beautifully, with a thorny rose snaking around it.

4. Best Weapon Ink (No. 2)
There’s only one weapon on The Walking Dead that has a name. That’s how fearsome Lucille is.

5) Best Depiction of a Badass
Carol has evolved into one of the show’s most capable and cold-blooded killers. Bow down!

6) Best Slogan
“Fight the dead, fear the living” started out as promotional copy from AMC, but truly, they’ve become guiding words for fans.

7) Deepest Cut (Pun Intended)
This little girl was the first walker encountered by Rick after he woke up from his coma in the hospital. Remember she was clutching a teddy bear?

8) Oddest Choice
This rendering of Hershel’s farm is well-done, but… why? It looks like any other farmhouse and that was arguably the most boring season of the show.

9) Most Romantic (tie)
This lovely depiction of a moment between Glenn and Maggie will give you all the feels.

10) Most Romantic (No. 2)
The previous Glenn/Maggie tattoo was more on the nose, but this one calls out their relationship in a more understated, melancholic way, with Hershel’s watch, the balloons, and their pledge to each other.

@glenns_green_balloons this is such an amazing tattoo. #twdtattoo

11) Best New Character Tattoo
The vast majority of character ink is devoted to Daryl, Rick, or Carol — but King Ezekiel and his tiger Shiva get a beautifully-rendered tribute here.

12) Most Disgusting Ink
This callback to season 3 features a walker that Carl finds eating a deer. Gross scene, gross zombie… excellent tat.

13) Most Regrettable Choice
This is well-done, but 1) It’s already outdated, since Carl now sports an eyepatch over his lost eye, and 2) how weird will it be in 20 years when this person has a pre-teen inked on their body?

14) Most Bittersweet
As pretty as this tattoo is, it references one of the darkest moments in the series: When Carol told Lizzie to “just look at the flowers,” then shot her in the head.

15) Best Villain Tattoo
The Walking Dead has had its share of memorable villains, but Negan might take the cake (and lemonade).

The Walking Dead Season 8 premieres Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
