Wake-Up Weather: storms escape the key city but a direct hit for the heartland

Summary: The morning, starting off warm hazy with a bit of patchy fog in the area storms towards the Concho Valley that were severe early this morning continue pulling in towards the north into the heartland with the heavy rain and pockets of embedded hail. Most in the area yesterday remains safe from severe storms. Those into the heartland were not as lucky with very large hail, damaging wind, Gus and flash flooding warnings. Today while the coverage is not expected to be as intense as yesterday we are monitoring the chance for strong to severe storms by the late evening hours before clearing out into tonight Friday we see a cold front push through clearing the skies, but allowing temperatures to climb throughout the memorial day weekend into the mix of the upper 90s as a cold front arrives on memorial day then we keep the temperature warm and above average with a chance for rain showers by Tuesday night.

Tonight: Mostly clear, warm with a light breeze. Low Temperature: 69° Winds: S 10-15 MPH
