RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Six Forks Road was closed just north of Raleigh Sunday afternoon and evening after two people were in custody following a crash and car chase, officials said.

The chase involving the North Carolina State Highway Patrol was reported just after 5:30 p.m. northbound along Six Forks Road near Interstate 540.

A Broadcastify audio recording of a radio “notification only” from officials to northwest district Raleigh police said the chase was in progress and was “going 150 mph.”

The wreck happened along a two-lane section of Six Forks Road at Hartland Court, about a half mile north of Durant Road.

After the crash, a silver minivan had major damage and was sitting in a yard, several feet from the road. The road reopened after the wrecked vehicle was removed.

Another car nearby could be seen with damage but the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the wreck involved just one vehicle.

No one was injured. Two people were taken into custody following the crash, authorities said.

The Raleigh Police Department said the North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the case.
