Voters to decide on $28.5M for Halstead-Bentley schools
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Halstead-Bentley School District, USD 440, is asking voters to approve a $28.5 million bond issue on Tuesday. The vote will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There will only be one polling place. All registered USD 440 voters will vote at Halstead High School Gym regardless of whether they live in Harvey or Sedgwick County.

USD 440 wants the $28.5 million so it can make additions and improvements to:
Bentley Primary School
A secured entry
Renovate and modernize the library, classrooms, cafeteria, restrooms, special education areas and gym
Halstead Middle School
New entrance for facility activities
Renovate and modernize Pre-K classrooms, cafeteria and restrooms
Halstead High School
A secured entry addition and improvements
7th- and 8th-grade addition
Weight room addition
Girls’ locker room addition
Administration offices and conference room addition
Performing arts and rehearsal space classroom addition
Renovate and modernize the auditorium, classroom, and industrial arts spaces
Renovate all district facilities, including
A replacement press box at the football facility
New softball and baseball fields
Voting yes would mean agreeing to the project. Voting no would be against the project.
