Vote for The State Journal-Register Student of the Week for April 15-19

Voting for The State Journal-Register Student of the Week is now open after principals and administrators from local and area schools put forth another four nominations.

The students were nominated based on academic achievement, leadership, citizenship, character, public service and participation in clubs and activities.

We publish a list of Student of the Week nominees every Monday morning at sj-r.com and in print on Tuesday. Voting closes at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The Student of the Week is announced online Friday and in print Sunday.

Here are the April 15-19 nominees.

Noah Ingram, Brown Co.

Ingram is a senior at Brown County High School and is an active member of the school community, according to his nominator, principal Pollee Craven.

Ingram is an integral part of the school's drama club, working both on stage and behind the scenes to make sure productions go off without a hitch, Craven said.

He is also a member of the golf and basketball teams. Through the Brown Schuyler CEO program, Ingram started his own small business.

Mack Leonard, Franklin

Mack Leonard

Leonard, a Franklin junior, has "a personality that will light up a room and has shown incredible growth from a leadership standpoint over this school year," said his teacher, Kevin Johnson.

Leonard is one of the most well-rounded and talented students at Franklin, Johnson added.

Leonard is an active member of FFA and enjoys working in the construction field.

Allysse Lewis, Southeast

Allysse Lewis

A senior at Southeast, Lewis is "a leader and creator who is truly full of life, who shares a warm smile and ‘hello’ to anyone she encounters," said her nominator, Erika Metz, an assistant principal.

Lewis is a juror on Southeast’s Teen court, a member of the National Honor Society, the McNeese Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program (P4) and captain of the fencing club.  She works in the Student Office and with both the Spanish and French Clubs.

Outside of school, she is the YBD president of the local missionary society and is a member of the Bereshith Dance Ministry.

Lewis wants to pursue a degree in medicine and focus on neuroscience.

Morgan Snell, North Mac

Morgan Snell

Snell is a senior at North Mac High School.

He is a member of the National Honor Society and on North Mac’s soccer and track teams.

Snell "is a quiet leader with integrity who is a mentor to underclassmen," according to his nominator, Molly Uhe-Edmonds, North Mac principal.
