Avon's Oriole spreads his wings: 'Something behind that costume gives him life.'

Aiden Quinlin, a sophomore at Southport High School. Aiden Quinlin is a stand-out sophomore who shows, every day, his high level of dedication to academics and the school community. Among the top of his class, Aiden continues to set high expectations for himself, and he is only getting started. So far, in just his first two years, Aiden has taken eight advanced level courses (10 if you count high school credits he earned while in middle school), excelling in every one. Teachers share that Aiden strives to understand new content, actively participates in his learning and growth, shows perseverance with positivity, and takes pride in showing his best. He is polite, kind, friendly, and is undoubtedly a leader in character.

Aiden’s hard work and dedication go beyond the classroom, as he is an active participant in multiple activities at SHS. He is a multi-sport athlete in baseball and football, serves as a member of the football program’s Leadership Council, Best Buddies (club dedicated to supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities), Cardinal Cadre (student ambassadors for events), participates in Student Council, and is a valuable member on staff for The Journal, our school news publication.

Aiden deserves high praise for the focus, grit, balance and compassion he exhibits each day. We are proud to call him a Cardinal and look forward to seeing what he achieves as he continues on this impressive path he is walking!
