Volusia County Fair 2023 underway: Everything you need to know before your visit

This year's Volusia County Fair and Youth Show is underway.

The event kicked off Thursday at the county fairgrounds in DeLand.

The fair's 11-day schedule is filled with crowd favorites, including stunt shows, live music, a petting zoo, all kinds of rides (for kids and adults), and much more.

Here's what you need to know to plan your visit.

Where is the Volusia County Fair?

The fair takes place at the county fairgrounds, located at 3150 E. New York Ave. in DeLand. The event runs through Nov. 12.

Volusia County Fair prices

General admission tickets (13 and above) are $15. Children (ages 6 to 12) can get in for $10. Kids under 5 can get in for free with an adult. Parking is free.

How much are ride bracelets at the Volusia County Fair?

Ride bracelets run between $25 and $35 depending on the day (read on for details) and are only available at the fair.

What does the schedule look like?

Sunday: Gates open at 11 a.m. at which time guests can head to the pavilion for a poultry contest. An amateur show will happen at the center stage at 1 p.m., followed by other entertainment from 2 to 9:30 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $35.

Monday: Gates open at 4 p.m., with entertainment at the center stage from 4:30-9:30 p.m. and a market lamb show at the pavilion at 7 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $30.

Tuesday: Gates open at 1 p.m. Tuesday is both senior and student day: Those 55 and older can buy general admission tickets for $10 until 7 p.m., and students 18 and under can get in for $5 between 4 and 7 p.m. The night will feature a Statler Brothers Tribute at 3 and 6 p.m. at center stage. A market swine show will happen at the pavilion at 6 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $30.

Wednesday: The fair's Volusia Recycle Night begins at 4 p.m. and will offer $1 off on tickets to those who bring a recyclable can or plastic bottle. There will be entertainment at center stage from 4:30-9:30 p.m., as well as a market steer show at the pavilion at 7 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $30.

Thursday: Gates open at 4 p.m. and the fair's livestock auction (lamb, steer and swine) begins at 6 p.m. at the pavilion. Enjoy entertainment at center stage from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $25.

Saturday: Gates open at 10 a.m., with free admission to veterans and U.S military members. A flyover is scheduled for 5 p.m. Entertainment at center stage will run from 1-9 p.m., and hourly goat breeding shows will happen at the pavilion from noon until 6 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $35.

Sunday: The fair's final day begins at 11 a.m. will offer free admission to first responders. A rabbit and guinea pig contest will begin at 11 a.m. at the pavilion and guests can enjoy entertainment at center stage from 2-8 p.m. Ride bracelets will cost $30. The fair will close at 9 p.m.
