Volunteers needed for trash cleanup effort in Danville Saturday

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Vermilion County organization is looking for volunteers this weekend to help beautify the Danville area.

Keep Vermilion County Beautiful is the local branch of Keep American Beautiful, which is hosting the Great American Cleanup on Saturday. From 9 a.m. to noon, event organizers will be leading volunteers around Danville to pick up trash, plant and mulch.

Volunteer sign-ups open for Balloons over Vermilion

There are six locations in Danville, including the “Welcome to Danville” signs, the entrance to Holiday Hills off of Voorhees Street and on Newell Road across from Walmart.

Anyone who wants to volunteer can sign up by calling the group’s Executive Director at 217-304-7541.
