Russia doesn't want Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas to become NATO Secretary General, which is why Russian dictator Vladimir Putin declared her wanted, she told Swedish publication Svenska Dagbladet on May 26.
Russia wants to humiliate the sovereignty of Estonia in the process, she added.
“With this ‘wanted’ announcement he (Putin - ed.) wanted to demonstrate that we are not a real country,” she said.
“He wanted to show that Russian laws apply here too. But they don't."
Russia is trying to label her as radically anti-Russian to prevent her from leading NATO, she said.
"This announcement sent a signal to my European colleagues,” Kallas said.

“When we talk about various positions at the European level or in NATO, the main argument against me is that I am an anti-Russian provocateur. That's why they put me on this list, to make it clear that I'm provoking them."
Russia’s Internal Affairs Ministry claimed Kaja Kallas and Estonian State Secretary Taimar Peterkop wanted on Feb. 12.
