NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas has returned to Norfolk following the March 26 collapse of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge.

Royal Caribbean ‘Vision of the Seas’ to return to Norfolk

Officials said the ship docked in Norfolk just before 5:30 a.m.

“It was quite disappointing when we found out the ship was going to be diverted because of the bridge and all,” said Antonio Buchanan, a passenger.

Antonio and his son Noah drove a rental car to Norfolk. They said they lived seven miles from the Baltimore cruise terminal.

“Overall it’s been pretty positive. Ya know, dealing with the disaster circumstance, you got to kind of be flexible. It didn’t get in the way of the great cruise we had we still got to the Bahamas,” said Noah Buchanan, a passenger

The voyage is the second Royal Caribbean trip to dock in Norfolk. Passengers had to find their own way to get to the cruise terminal. Many passenger parked at the MacArthur Center.

Despite the change some passengers had a fun vacation.

“We had a great trip and we feel fortunate to be able to do it at all,” said Patrick McComiskey, a passenger.

Buses will be available to carry passengers back to MacArthur Center South.
