Virginia Tech women’s basketball team will face Marshall in Blacksburg

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – On Selection Sunday the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team punched their ticket back to the national tournament. Not only will the Hokies enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed they’ll host the first and second rounds in Blacksburg again.

“When we got the No. 4 seed we don’t even know what they said about us we were all screaming because we knew we were going to be back in town in Cassell. So very excited to be at home and to be able to play in front of our fans again,” said Virginia Tech head coach Kenny Brooks.

The Hokies will face the No. 13 seed Marshall, if they win they could face either Baylor, Vanderbilt, or Columbia in the second round of the tournament.
