Virginia State Police arrests, charges Maryland man after high-speed chase; pregnant passenger injured

FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Virginia State Police (VSP) arrested a Baltimore, Md. man after a chase that crossed county borders at speeds that reached 100 mph on Sunday.

VSP said that around 1 p.m., a trooper tried to stop a Toyota Sienna that was driving east on Interstate 66 (I-66) near the 17-mile marker for having no state inspection and no brake lights. The car did not stop, and state troopers started the pursuit.

The car continued on I-66 and crossed into Prince William County before continuing onto Route 234, running several red lights and driving in and out of traffic and onto both shoulders.

The car eventually headed back onto I-66, continuing eastbound. VSP tried to contain it, and it crashed into a patrol vehicle, causing it to hit another car and come to a stop.
