Virginia Beach-based organization assists in disaster recovery across continents
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Operation Blessing has been busy in the wake of natural disasters, not only in the U.S., but across the world.
The Virginia Beach-based organization has teams responding to Nebraska, Texas and another on the way to Brazil. The teams in Nebraska were helping with tornado recovery while crews in Texas assisted in repairing damages from recent floodings.
International teams were sent to Brazil who experienced massive floodings as well.
“This spring has seen an unprecedented number of disasters occur back-to-back, resulting in a season of suffering for countless people in their path,” said Operation Blessing chief operating officer Drew Friedrich. “Operation Blessing is there to help, no matter where disaster strikes. If you live in one of those areas, please consider volunteering for a day to help your neighbors. If you are elsewhere, please consider donating to the efforts. You could change someone’s life.”
