Viola man seriously hurt in paraglider crash

NORWICH, Kan. (KSNW) — A Viola man was seriously hurt after crashing a paraglider.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says it happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday about 2 miles northeast of Norwich in Kingman County. The patrol says the paraglider crash landed in a field just west of SE 170th Avenue and near SE 120th Street.

Former Emporia government supervisor accused of stealing from the city

Troopers say the 51-year-old pilot reported he fell approximately 15 feet. He was taken by EMS to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.

No one else was hurt.
