The visitors opened the scoring in the very first frame, blasting an RBI double to take a 1-0 advantage. Jackson Green responded for ETSU with a solo homer, as a Noah Gent groundout gave the Bucs a 2-1 lead just a few batters later.

Villanova scored the next four runs, however, building the lead back up to 6-2.

The Bucs showed some life in the bottom of the fourth, platin a trio of runs on doubles from Jamie Palmese and Green, as well as a Cam Sisneros groundout.

However, a pair of home runs from ‘Nova in the fifth, accounting for five runs, ultimately put the game out of reach.

Green stood out at the plate for ETSU, going 3-for-5 with a double, home run and 2 RBI. Noah Gent also launched a homer, while driving in a trio of runs.

Michael Harpster took the loss for the Bucs, his first of the season, after going 2.2 innings and allowing four runs on three hits, while striking out three batters.

Villanova did series damage with the long ball, smashing five homers in the Sunday victory.

ETSU (14-5) has a quick turnaround to face Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
