Eden Prairie (United States) (AFP) - Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph was struck in the calf by a stray bullet while at a downtown Minneapolis club after the National Football League team's exhibition game.

The Vikings said that Joseph suffered minor injuries from the incident which took place at 400 SoundBar after the team's 10-6 win over the Oakland Raiders on Friday.

Joseph, who was acquired in the offseason from the New York Giants, was treated and released from hospital. He is expected to rejoin the team later this week.

According to the US media, two people were seriously wounded by an unknown gunman that fired several shots early Saturday morning.
