Vikings' Freeman to start against Packers

The Minnesota Vikings will continue with Josh Freeman as their starting quarterback despite a lackluster performance in his debut Monday night against the New York Giants.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Tuesday that Freeman will start against Green Bay on Sunday night.

Freeman was 20 of 53 for 190 yards, no touchdowns and one interception during the 23-7 loss to the Giants for a completion percentage of 37.7.

"It was up and down," Frazier said Monday night of Freeman's debut. "We put together what we thought was a good plan to help him be successful in this ballgame, but it didn't work out."

The Vikings also announced Tuesday that they have claimed cornerback Shaun Prater and released cornerback Jacob Lacey. Prater was waived by the Eagles on Monday. He played one game for the Eagles, who claimed him off of waivers from the Bengals at the end of the preseason.
