Vigo County Education Foundation to honor 31 educators

May 7—The Vigo County Education Foundation will honor 31 outstanding educators at the 38th annual "Excellence in Education" banquet Thursday.

The banquet will take place at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

As a result of nominations from students, parents, teachers, principals and other associates of the Vigo County School community, educators will be honored from each of the schools. An educator from the Covered Bridge Special Education District, a retired teacher, and an administrator will also be receiving this award.

Duke Energy Foundation, Kelly Education, Novelis, Union Health and The Hometown Savings Bank join the Education Foundation as event sponsors of the banquet and award ceremony honoring outstanding educators for their dedication and commitment to the students of the Vigo County School Corp.

This special evening is a celebration of all Vigo County School Corp. public school educators during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

Susie Dinkel from WTHI-TV will serve as emcee for the evening's events. There will be 365 people in attendance. Award recipients are:
