Vietnamese electric vehicle company VinFast is expanding its presence in California with plans for over 20 additional locations in the state.

VinFast’s first six showrooms opened in Santa Monica, San Diego, San Mateo, Corte Madera, Commerce and Berkeley in July, while four additional locations opened in Los Angeles, Marina del Rey, Irvine and Torrance in December.

The showrooms are just a fraction of over 30 showrooms that the company plans to establish in the state. The company's first service centers will be situated in San Francisco, San Mateo and Burbank.

VinFast has also set its sights on expanding to New York and Florida in the future.

The VinFast showrooms were designed by architectural firm MBH to convey the "Future of Mobility" theme with their futuristic and minimalist aesthetics.

The stores, which range from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet in size, also offer interactive technology for a seamless "Online-to-Offline" experience. Inside, customers can explore the electric SUVs and engage with VinFast consultants to learn more about the company’s products and services.

Inspired by the company’s Vietnamese roots, the showrooms feature native wood and graphics of rolling hills and harbors.

The company, which aims to compete with Tesla, recently announced that it is combining its U.S. and Canadian operations in its Los Angeles headquarters.

VinFast currently offers two electric SUVs, the VF8 and the VF9, in the U.S., with plans to launch the VF6 and VF7 models in later months.

The first batch of 999 VF8 City Edition vehicles arrived in the country in December but disappointed many prospective buyers because of its 180 miles of maximum range.
