Vietnam veterans in Pennsylvania would get their own holiday under proposed bill

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– State lawmakers introduced legislation that would give Pennsylvania a new holiday for veterans.

If passed, House Resolution 336 would create “Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day” for March 29, which is also when the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration honors Vietnam veterans.

According to the resolution’s memo, there were 3,147 Pennsylvanians who died during the Vietnam War. In total, the war claimed the lives of 58,220 United States military personnel.
