Frunobulax: We are now living in a Post-Truth society. Millions of Americans have little or no critical-thinking ability, and they are unable to distinguish facts from rumor and innuendo. Furthermore, they are intellectually incapable of seeking out and analyzing real-world evidence and then using the powers of logic and reason to analyze it. All that stuff is just too difficult for these people, so they just latch onto the accusations and rumors and lies that they feel the most comfortable with, irrespective of what might actually be going on in the real world. In this environment, conspiracy theories and propaganda rule. This leads people to mistrust anything that's going on around them which they don't like, don't approve of, or don't understand. And this is why so many people are distrusting the integrity of our country's voting system. This is more than just a sad, annoying trend. It's exceedingly dangerous for our country, because once people mistrust the most basic rights that make up the foundation of our Constitutional system (voting), they will be willing to abandon democracy in general and to dismantle our freedoms.
