Woman Rescues Puppy Crying In A Garbage Can

An eight week old Chihuahua-mix is getting a second lease on life after being tossed into a garbage can and abandoned. The dog named "Foxy" was rescued by a woman who heard the puppy crying in the trash can near her home on Monday. The woman cared for the puppy until contacting Kent County Animal Control today. "We noticed right away that the dog had issues with her left eye," said Dr. Laurie Wright, Kent County Animal Shelter Veterinarian in a press release.
