Woman mauled by tiger improving at hospital

The condition of a northwest suburban animal handler, mauled by a tiger in Indiana, has been upgraded. 23-year-old Marissa Dub of Streamwood was working Friday at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center, about 50 miles southwest of Indianapolis. Workers moved the tiger to a holding area while Dub cleaned its cage. But an improperly closed door allowed the tiger to escape and bite Dub on the head. Workers sprayed the cat with a water hose, then lured it out of the cage using meat. Dub was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition. She was upgraded today to serious condition.
