Whole organ 'grown' inside animal for the first time

Scientists in the UK have successfully grown a fully functional organ inside a living animal by transplanting cells grown in a laboratory. The researchs marks the first time a living organ has been created outside the body. Researchers from the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh hope their study will pave the way for similar techniques to be used in humans in future.
