The White House says it's "deeply concerned" about reports that chemical weapons were used by Syria's government against civilians. White House spokesman Josh Earnest says the U.S. strongly condemns any use of chemical weapons. (Aug. 21)
JAFO001: The most amazing thing about this article is that Andrew Romano was able to pry his lips away from Hillary's backside long enough to actually make a couple of decent points. Trump does indeed act like a Caudillo (Latin American strongman) more than he does a presidential candidate. And his hardcore supporters often act more a cult or revolutionaries than supporters. We're supposed to be a nation of laws, not men. If we really are at the point where a lot of voters think that only some sort of uber-man can save us, then the system is in worse shape than any of us would like to admit. That said, it would be nice if Romano would stop his butt-kissing long enough to acknowledge that Clinton has her own tendencies towards authoritarianism and plenty of arrogance, to boot. To say nothing of a record that is frankly, quite awful in many areas. Especially foreign affairs. The U.S.' role in the unmitigated disaster that was the involvement in Libya was primarily her doing. And all the pretty speeches and kneepad journalism in the world won't change that. It's going to be a tough 4 years ahead, folks. No matter who wins in November.
