Volunteers Create Community Garden And Help Make Bakersfield Beautiful

Folks in one central Bakersfield neighborhood now have a brand new community garden to enjoy thanks to volunteers from keep Bakersfield Beautiful and IKEA. Volunteers were out this morning planting a garden in empty lots at the corner of Fourth Street and Eye Street. The Keep Bakersfield committee started working on the garden last spring during the great American cleanup, but they planted vegetables, flowers and other plants in it for the first time today.
