Bill providing economic assistance to Ukraine and imposing sanctions over Russia's actions in Ukraine cleared a procedural hurdle in the U.S. Senate Monday. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
greg: I am sick of "perception" dictating rather than what was actually said. I am far from a Trump fan. But, this has to stop in all arenas across the US. Trump said, : "If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say. You tell me." Now, anyone who does not admit that women are subservient in many muslim cultures is delusional. Trump said that she had nothing to say. That's true and not wrongful. He used the word "probably" then "maybe" in regards to her not being allowed to talk. Those words clearly convey a meaning of uncertainty He didn't say that her husband told her not to speak.. Given that in many muslim cultures, women are forbidden to speak in public, especially in front of thousands of people, Trump's hypothesis is credible. However, it is a weak assertion because American muslim women are much more liberated, in general. However, there is a minority of American muslim women who live in subservient homes run by their master, the husband. But the same can be said for non-muslim American women. The problem is not the muslim faith. The problem is inequality. And, Trump missed the boat on that. That said, it is more likely for an American muslim women to be treated unequally in her home than a non-muslim. Words and facts matter folks.
