seeta: CA has dumped a trillion gallons of water into the ocean. For years now, the southern 1/3 of the San Joaquin valley has been turned into a man-made dust bowl that is sinking at alarming rates. The water is being allowed to just run off the mountains, through the river system, through the delta, and out into the ocean. They say they've been doing this for the tiny Delta Smelt, a three inch bait fish, that is dying off irregardless of the water dump. They refuse to discuss the predator fish that have grown in huge numbers and are the primary reason for the Delta Smelt's decline. Now, California is in the midst of a drought. As the Governor institutes water emergency rules, they just let all that water just keep pouring into the ocean. The I-5 San Joaquin Valley corridor is marked with endless signs begging Nancy Pelosi to turn the water back on. There's 1/2 million acres of farmland, bigger than the state of RI, that's been turned into a dust bowl. ALL the small farmers have lost their land, either foreclosed or had to sell their dust bowls at dirt cheap prices to Monsanto and big AG, which is what they all believe this is really about. Now, why is Monsanto buying up all these dust bowls at dirt cheap prices if they don't know the water will be turned back on at some point? And guess what? To speed it up, they're now trying to force more legislation to dump even more water into the ocean, despite being told it's not working, that it's not the problem, that it's too late to save the Delta Smelt. Tens of thousands of people have lost their jobs—the town of Mendota alone has an unemployment rate of about 40%—and the lines for food donations stretch down streets. And it was all done for a political agenda - to give Monsanto and Big AG a huge chunk of the most favorable farmland in the country, at dirt cheap prices. Pay for play - destroy the small guy. Give all the power to the rich. Wake up you stupid Trolls.
