A man opened fire Friday inside a Connecticut elementary school killing 26 people, including 20 children, by blasting his way through two rooms as youngsters cowered helplessly in the building. (Dec. 14)
mark: I remember when you could take woodworking in middle school, and trade classes in high school. The teachers were excellent. We learned how to read blueprints, build walls, and cut roof lines. We could use plumbing, air conditioning, and electrical classes as well. Not everyone is college material, and diluting the rigor to turns out inferior graduates. There are plenty of jobs running road equipment and truck driving. Going to college gives you options, and is just one more tool to make you marketable. Nothing replaces drive, enthusiasm, sacrifice, and hard work. If you don't have that you will still be at your parents house at 40.
