Paul: My concern all along has been the security of computerized election systems. My experience with computers and the internet tell me that there is no way to actually secure an election database or prevent tampering. We have long worried about ballot stuffing and fraud. But cyber elections are an invitation to it. We should look at this hacking as a warning shot. In November we could end up with whole districts or county voter numbers which may be unreliable. Sooner or later, we may be faced with recounts and tossed out results because of it. It could make the 2000 recounts look small by camparison. How would you like Russian hackers electing your next congressman?
