A rally at Kansas City's Union Station called for area families to have more options to public education available, including charter schools and homeschooling.
a: My entire extended family generally identifies as Republican, as have I historically. What's amazing to me is my wife and I were trying to find the difference in our family between the Trump supporters and the group that have abandoned him. Here's what we see in our family circle: Of the half of the family that supports Trump, none of them finished college despite having parental financial support to do so. Of the half that support Trump, 3/4ths of them are adults who only have been able to have employment by working for their parents, the other 1/4th are self-employed. About 1/2 of them regularly post racist jokes on social media. None of them have worked for a business with more than 10 employees in the last 30 years. About 1/6th of them have declared bankruptcy before (one of them more than once), and 1/2 of them are in rough financial shape to the point of being on the verge of car repossession, etc. Of the half of the family that is #NeverTrump Republican - 1/3 of us have graduate degrees, the other half all finished a four-year degree. All of us have worked outside of the "family" for out entire adult lives. All have good jobs, retirement, health insurance, 3/4ths of us have worked for large companies most of our careers. None are in financial distress.
