A hillsborough County boy contracts EEE
Tommy: "The Blacks", "Them", "You People", are all terms being used in a lot of the comments. I think that speaks volumes about the general opinion of people born in America, just like those using separatist terminology. Black people still aren't thought of just another person. It's still a Black person, no matter what. As long as a Black person is seen as a color, a statistic, or a problem by other people; we will continue to have the political divide. Some of the comments insist that "the Blacks" are living in poverty because democrats put them in that situation. Even if that were true; are those posting comments saying that the alternative is the key to wealth and success? I'm sure they would say, "No, the key is to get out and get a job. We can help you people with that if you just give us your vote." Black people aren't buying it because it's just politics. This is just part of the cycle when we actually matter, every 4 years. Both sides need our votes to win. Lately, one side seems really desperate for "our" votes or desperate not to let the other side get "our" votes by making it more difficult for some of us in certain areas. The Supreme Court saw right through that tactic and stopped it. It's ironic that they say, we just want people to be able to prove that they are who they say they are and be able to show ID. That sounds very similar to the GOP candidate's argument about a very important person that lives in the White House. That's not good when you say you want "them" to vote for you.
