More showers this morning & thunderstorms later
The big story wasn't just the loud and rumbling thunder Monday, but a rumored "tornado" caught on tape in southwest Bakersfield, which I am calling a gustnado, not a tornado. There were some other weather stories out there yesterday too. Small hail was already reported at Pine Mountain Club this afternoon at around 4 p.m. Monday and Bakersfield collected 0.05" rain for the day. We topped out at 78 degrees Monday afternoon, which is three degrees below average for this time of May.
