Monday forecast: clearing skies & foggy mornings

Sunday's storm has cleared out of Kern County, but not before wreaking some havoc on the mountain communities. The California Highway Patrol was escorting traffic across the snow on the Grapevine from 11 p.m. Sunday to about 2 a.m. Monday. But even after the snow conditions improved, officers had to start pacing traffic once again over the pass from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. because of dense fog with lowered visibility to 200 feet in places on the pass.
