Messi goes to court in Barcelona in tax fraud investigation

Footballer Lionel Messi and his father Jorge have appeared in court in Spain to answer questions about an alleged tax fraud of over four million euros.

The Argentina and Barcelona superstar is under investigation for having allegedly hidden part of his earnings from 2006 to 2009.

The pair deny the charges, blaming a former agent, Rodolfo Schinocca. Messi paid five million euros to the tax authorities in August when faced with the threat of serving time in prison if found guilty.
