Hundreds gathered at the World Trade Center site in New York, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa., to read the names of nearly 3,000 victims killed in the worst terror attack in U.S. history. (Sept. 11)
Jaik: McCain is better than his primary opponent or most of his party, in that he's still able to take stances of his own at times. But he's not the maverick he was 10 years ago even, his own ambition corrupted him in his run for president and the willingness to compromise his values for that goal. It would be better for the country and for his own legacy if he is retired in November before he slips any farther. I disagree with him on many issues but he's generally served his country honorably, & its time to head for the sunset in the glow of that before it gets any darker.
