TimothyH: So Grassley's argument is literally "We made this law because we believed something 30 years ago that, it turns out, was completely wrong". Uh, okay? You through we reached peak oil, we didn't, not even close, we still haven't, so...if the rationale for the law is gone, we should get rid of the law. I don't see why this is hard to understand. If he wants to argue these subsidies are good for some other reason, fine, but the one he gave is baffling. I also love all the local politicians just admitting "I just want wind power and subsidies because it benefits us at the expense of others, obviously!" It really feels like our politicians aren't even trying very hard anymore, they just tell you outright that they want to rob Peter to pay Paul, but it's okay because they have fancy suits.
