The first phase of automatic budget cuts known as sequestration are less than two weeks away. If and when those cuts hit, the ripple effect will be far-reaching in Hawaii.
John H.: As Oliver Hardy used to say to Stan Laurel (Laurel and Hardy), well this is another fine kettle of fish you've gotten us into! Two candidates for president and neither one any normally sane person would vote for. So what are we going to do? Many of us will simply go to the polls and hold our noses while we file our vote for the least detestable candidate according to our political bent. Others will vote Libertarian or Green knowing full well that it will be a vote wasted. Still others will be unable or unwilling to see the warts on our candidates noses and actually vote because they think their choice is actually a good choice. For that latter category, they are beyond hope and there is just no helping them. As for me, I believe I'll just get started practicing to hold my nose! Fortunately for me, I among those we refer to as senior citizens. I may make it through the next eight years and experience the inevitable outcome of our folly! It will be interesting if nothing else!
