Drug Bust Case: Boxer Ram Singh expelled from NIS

The National Institute of Sports has expelled boxer Ram Singh after he admitted taking contraband substance with Olympic bronze-medallist Vijender Singh. Super heavyweight pugilist Ram, a former National Championships medallist, confessed that he experimented with drugs along with Vijender, who has denied the allegations. Meanwhile defending Vijender, who has denied all the allegations of consuming banned drugs, India's national boxing coach GS Sandhu said he was tested four to five times before Olympics and came out clean. Police busted an international drug-peddling nexus with the arrest of Kulwinder Singh alias Rocky including one NRI Anup Singh Kahlon and confiscated massive drug haul worth over a crore rupees.
