Richard: These endorsements have a minor effect. There are some people who will read them and be swayed if they are truly on the fence. We have to face the facts. There is about 40% of both Republicans and Democrats that will vote that way no matter who the candidate is. These people are not persuaded by any endorsement. The other 20% (10 to 20) are independents, but even they have a leaning to the left or right. That is why very few elections are true landslides. You have some Republicans who will vote for Trump not because they believe he is qualified, but they are concerned about the Supreme Court which can do more damage to their cause than the president.
